Pisces knows an email address if you give us one, nothing about your files, and nothing about your browsing. Your location stays on your phone. The details:
The early-access list
If you sign up, we store three things: your email address, when you signed up, and which page you signed up from. That's the entire record: no IP address, no device information, no location.
We use it to send launch updates: a welcome note when you join, and news when a water body comes online. Emails are delivered by Resend, our email provider. Every email carries a one-click unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing deletes your address from the database.
The Field Kit tools
The free tools, including the GPX Cleaner, run entirely in your browser. Your files are never uploaded. They are opened, processed, and saved on your own device.
The Pisces app
The app uses your device's location to put you on the map and to navigate a course you've plotted, the way any chartplotter does. That location is used on your phone and is not sent to us. We run no server that receives it, and it is never shared or sold.
While you are navigating, the app keeps reading your location in the background so the map tracks your course when the screen is off. A notification shows the whole time it does this, and it stops the moment you leave navigation.
For live conditions the app calls two public services, NOAA for tides and water level and the National Weather Service for the forecast. Those requests are for fixed local stations, not for your position, so your location is not in them.
Anything you create in the app, such as saved spots and boat profiles, stays on your device. It is never uploaded and never becomes part of the model. During testing the app sits behind a login; the email you sign in with is used only to grant access, nothing else.
Analytics
The site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts page visits in aggregate. It sets no cookies, builds no visitor profiles, and follows you to no other site.
Cookies and storage
The public site sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser.
Infrastructure
The site, the signup database, and the app's test-access login all run on Cloudflare, which sees the ordinary network information any host does.
